It's Begun....
Ever since the doctor said "it's a boy" Chris has been dying to buy his little man a basketball hoop (even though it would be a long long time until he could actually use it). Never the less it seems like it runs in the family....Chris's dad went out and bought a remote control car and a race car set for Chris before he was born! Yeah I know, men get so excited to know that they "made a boy!" So last night we went to Wal-mart for some stuff and Chris's eyes (yeah, not Cam's) lit up in the toy isle. I knew he was finally going to do it. So here is Cam already in Spring training with daddy! :)

Oh man.... does that bring back memories!!! He looks just like you did when you started. Does he have the intensity and attention span?
you've gotta lower that thing or you'll be spending all day lifting him up to shoot the ball. you never know-- he might surprise you and be into ballet instead-- hee hee!
LOVE these pictures... I can totally see a photo of Chris in my head doing that exact thing when he was a sweaty little boy. I think that is a look of pure joy on CHRIS' face too.. what do ya think??
Oh boy, I hope you like basketball too Cass!
OK, here's what you do, you raise up the floor all around the hoop. then the hoop will slammin height. Once the lad gets a taste of a slam dunk, there is no turning back. He seems to have pretty good natural form. Maybe a little weight training in the next month or so, then some jogging, and I think we might have the only redhead in the NBA!!!
so fun...he's gonna be a star.
I mis syou guys! cant wait to see you in a couple days!
Oh dear, gramp's dreams seem to have shifted. I guess he gave up on his sweaty little kid being in the NBA, so HERE WE GO!!! We'll try for YOUR sweaty little kid.
Not to sound like an authority or anything, but I did have a 1st child who thought he was Michael Jordan you know and we did have 2 of those in our living room for a full court effect! Nice! So you need to take it out of the stand and then tie it to the door so that it will kind of angle down. Then you put pillows around the base to kind of hold it in place. Then once he gets the hang of that you put it back in the base and you won't believe the shot the kid will have! I will send Brandon up to show you how it is done! Go Cam-cam! Now he just needs a little brother to play with. That comes with a basketball stand you know-you are supposed to be laughing Cass!
Bear-
That is SO funny! That is exactly what I told Chris when we bought it the other night. I told him all about Brandon and how he use to be amazing when he was tiny! I remember coming to Kansas and giving him different spots in the room to shoot from and he would make them ALL! Thanks for the pointers! Love ya!
